Obituary of Diana Sutherland Kirby
Kirby; Diana Sutherland (need Kelsey) - Born August 20, 1935 to Arden Wallace Kelsey of Elgin and Mary Gwendolyn Kelsey (nee Gardiner) of Brockville. Raised in Brockville with her three sisters, she tried her hand at dressmaking in Toronto and teaching in elementary schools in Brockville and Frankford for a few years before settling in Kingston in the early 60’s. It was here that she pursued her life-long carer as an occupational therapist working in most hospitals in the city. After retiring she was an active volunteer with the patient partners group. Diana was known for her caring nature, sense of humour and adventurous spirit. She had many interests in life from belly dancing to jewelry making, pottery, painting and photography to name a few. On February 11, 2021 she passed away peacefully in the arms of family. She is pre-deceased by her parents and sisters Sandra (Wymer) and Virginia (Brandford). Survived by her sister Heather (Cloutier), son Sean, granddaughter Diana Marie (Gehrken) and several nieces and nephews. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and she will be laid to rest at a future date in Oakland cemetery in Brockville Ont. Sadly missed by all who knew her.
