Obituary of John Hubert BRIERLEY

BRIERLEY, John Hubert (Jack) August 9, 1933-June 19, 2016 Jack passed away on Father's Day at Kingston General Hospital with his family at his side. He leaves behind his best friend and wife of 63 years, Ivy (nee Brown) of Elginburg. Predeceased by his daughter Heather Lynn Spencer and her husband Murray Spencer. He is survived by daughter Nancy Badgley (her late husband David Badgley) and only son, Bob Brierley. Loving grandfather and great grandfather to Tatum, Mikayla, Jacqueline, Rebecca, Corbin and Navy. Predeceased by infant grandson Cole Brierley Badgley, as well as his parents John and Rose (nee Tisdale) Brierley, sister Shirley Chisholm and her husband Al. Jack leaves behind his sisters, Betty Latimer and her husband Jim, and Doris Kenahan and her husband Tom. He will be greatly missed. A funeral service will be held in the Chapel of the JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Boulevard, on Thursday, June 23 at 5:00 pm, with Pastor Andrew Belair officiating. Following the service there will be a reception in the James Reid Reception Centre where a light lunch will be provided and memories may be shared. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Kingston Youth Shelter or, In From The Cold Shelter, in Jack's memory.
