Obituary of Lillianne Louise Paisley

Lillianne Louise Paisley nee (Lavigne)
March 15th, 1923 November 5th 2020

Lillianne, who married the love of her life Bill (deceased December 15th, 2013) on December 16th, 1949 has with great dignity gone to join him in heaven to carry on their amazing journey. Lillianne is predeceased by her Father Raphael Lavigne and Mother Dianne (Nee Joly).  Her brother Mun and sister-in-law Rolande Lavigne, St Sauveur Quebec, brother Carmen Lavigne (Timiskaming Quebec) and sister Aline and Walter, California, and with grace passed away peacefully at Providence Manor, her home for the last year.  After graduating from the 1943 school of nursing at Hotel Dieu as a Registered Nurse,
Lillianne worked at St Anne de Bellevue in Quebec where she met Bill.  Lilly raised three beautiful daughters Gayle (Kim Walden) of Calgary, Gwen Jackson of Virginia, USA and Joanne (Edward Billing) of Kingston and leaves her beloved grandchildren William John (Stephanie) of Toronto, Nicholas Martin (Kevin) of Kingston and Evan (Tegan) of Calgary. Lilly was a concert pianist and will be remembered always for her guidance and unconditional love for her family. Mom devoted her life to her family and supported her husband every day from the time he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force to the day she proudly stood beside him on his retirement as Major General in 1984. On Dad's passing in 2013 she took up the challenge of starting again at 90 years of age moving to Conservatory Pond Retirement Residence where she blossomed with the love and support of the staff and fellow residents.

Lilly's family would like to thank the exceptional people at 'The Pond' and the amazing and loving staff at Providence Manor who cared for our Mom from the time she arrived in October 2019 until the moment of her passing.  Particular thanks to the staff of Montreal 3 who, in these terrible times of COVID 19, made sure that Mom knew she was never alone and took pleasure in arranging video calls and outdoor visits, not only for our family but for hundreds of others as well. God Bless you Mom. You will be forever in our hearts and forever in our thoughts. Walk tall without pain and take care of Dad and please save a place for us. And lastly, thank you for being the wonderful Mother and Grandmother that you were. God Speed.

Cremation has been entrusted to the James Reid Funeral Home and a private graveside service was held.

Donations would be kindly appreciated to the UHKF (Providence Manor) or the charity of your choice in Lillianne's memory.
