HITCHCOCK, Kenneth James Edward August 21, 1939 May 31, 2016 It is with much sadness that Ken s family announce his peaceful passing on Tuesday, after a tragic battle with cancer. Ken will be greatly missed by the love of his life, his wife, Georgina, his girls, Kim and Kelly, his sons-in-law, Martin and Scott, his grandchildren Allan, Brianna, and Ben, and his great-granddaughter, Kimberly who brought great joy to his last year of life. Ken is survived by a loving sister, Carol (Robby) and her son, Darryl and a niece, Carole, a great-nephew, Jared and great-nieces, Tess and Jordyn. Ken is predeceased by his parents, Percy and Harriet Hitchcock, a sister, Elaine Granatstein and nephew, Michael. In the tradition of Ken s legacy he was a true patriarch of his family. Family and friends were important to Ken and all who knew him benefitted from his love and support. Ken was a fun-loving man and never a day went by without a colourful anecdote or a snappy one line answer to a problem. Ken was an outdoorsman and had a great passion for fishing, hunting and trapping. Up to his last days he was always talking about another fishing trip on Dog Lake. He was a longtime member of the Ontario Fur Managers Association and spent several years as a director in Eastern Ontario. Ken was a great supporter of this vital piece of Canadian History. Ken enjoyed many livelihoods throughout his life and eventually retired as a long time employee of Sears Canada Inc.
