Obituary of Peter OWEN

OWEN, Peter Balfour Pennington Lees - Peacefully at St. Mary's of the Lake Hospital, on Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at age 84. Loving father of David, Catherine, and Jane and brother of Robert (Kathryn). Predeceased by his parents, R. D. and Katherine Owen, his wife Joan Darling-Owen and her son David (Susan). He is survived by his first wife, Judith. Also survived by Joan's children: Michael (Lidia), Lori (Greg), Caroline (Rick) and their children. Peter was a former member of The Fort Henry Guard #191. He was a well-known Kingston photographer who worked for 28 years as Chief Photographer at CKWS Television Station and for 50 years as the Kingston General Hospital Nursery photographer. He also took the Winner Circle photos at Frontenac Downs Raceway (later called Kingston Park Raceway) and at the Belleville-Quinte race track. He was a long-time member of the Cataraqui Golf and Country Club. His crowning glory was a hole-in-one on the 12th hole. A celebration of his life will be held at The Cataraqui Golf and Country Club (961 King St. W.) on Thursday, June 2, 2016 between the hours of 3:00pm to 5:00pm. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to U.H.K.F. (St. Mary's of the Lake Hospital Palliative Care), in Peter's memory.
