Obituary of John RUDAN

RUDAN, John - BSc. ME P.Eng. - Peacefully at St. Mary's of the Lake Hospital on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 in his 93rd year. Predeceased by his beloved wife and devoted companion of 57 years, Marie Rudan. Loving father of John Rudan and his wife Debbie of Kingston, and Robert Rudan and his wife Melissa of Whitby. Affectionately known as Grandpa to his grandchildren, Lexie Allen and her husband Bryan of Los Angeles, Scott Rudan of Ottawa, and Alex and Madelaine, both of Whitby. 'GG' was loved as well by his great grandchildren, Layla and Brenner Allen. Predeceased by his parents and his sister Mary Hunter of Winnipeg. John was an honourable gentleman who lived with compassion and integrity. A Volunteer in the RCAF from October 1942 through the end of WW2. Obtaining a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manitoba, John worked at DuPont Canada in several technical and managerial roles from 1951 through retirement in 1986. Gardening was an important pastime in years gone by. Later in life he traded the shovel and spade for a curling broom. Throughout his life he formed lasting friendships around many a bridge table. A private family service will be held.
