Obituary of Judy DAVEY

Davey, Judy Mae - 1945-2016 - It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Judy Mae Davey (nee Hanley) beloved wife of Paul, dearly-loved mother of Katherine, Jackie (Todd), Douglas (Wilma), and Amy (Kate). Loving grandmother of Liam, Christian, Sydney, Ben, Beatrix, Edgar, and Hanlan. Cherished sister of George (Terry), and aunt to Stephen and Chris. Predeceased by her parents Almena (nee McIlroy) and Horace Hanley. Passed away in hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer. Judy was a small town girl at heart, and will be remembered as a lover of homey pleasures such as cooking and baking, church-going, caring for animals, listening to oldies on the radio, and playing cards with friends. She was a much-loved volunteer at both Fairmount Home and her Church. The family wishes to express our sincere appreciation for the high quality and passionate care that was provided to Judy throughout this journey by Seeley' s Bay Medical Centre, Kingston Cancer Clinic, and St. Mary s of the Lake Hospital. She will be forever missed. The family will receive friends at the JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME at 1900 John Counter Blvd, on Friday, May 20, 2016 between the hours of 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A memorial service will be held the following day, Saturday, May 21, 2016, at Battersea United Church, at 11:00 am, followed by an interment at Sandhill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Judy has asked that donations be made to the Battersea United Church and/or the U.H.K.F. (Cancer Centre of SE Ontario at KGH).
