Jacqui was a dear friend of my sister Sandra. I remember her fondly as a kind and caring person. My first concert experience was with them, The Bay City Rollers! I remember the sleepovers and her laugh late in the night. You will be missed!

You were my sister Heather’s best friend growing up. You would come over to our house to visit sometimes. I always wondered what you were talking and laughing about in Heather’s room, and wished I could come in and hang out too, but the door was always closed. You loved cats, astrology and The Bay City Rollers. I remember seeing you dancing in a high school production of “The Music Man” and dancing the “Charleston” in a play about the roaring ‘20’s. You came to our grandmother’s house to go strawberry picking and loved it when she read your tea leaves. You were the only person who loved the unusual Scottish name I chose for my little calico kitten. It was so nice to connect with you in recent years on Facebook and I always enjoyed your messages. I will never forget you, Jacqui.

The comfort of having you, dear friend, is gone now, but I’ll cherish our memories always. We met when we were in grade 1 and there was an instant connection that grew through the years. Our many “sleep overs” as kids, birthday celebrations, family trips... strengthened our bond. Life took us in different directions and our visits were less frequent; yet time seemed to fall away whenever we got together again - like it was only yesterday. When you lose someone who remembers you and what you were in grade 1, it feels like burying a part of your life, your history. I miss your smile and infectious laugh, your kindness, and your generous and genuine nature. You left footprints on my heart, friend, and I am the better for it. Rest easy, treasured friend, know you are loved and missed terribly.

My fondest memory of you, dear cousin, is being my junior bridesmaid 45 years ago. I think of you every year, on our anniversary, wearing your lilac dress. You were so proud of it because it was your first full length dress. It makes me smile when I remember how happy you were that day.
I know you are in a better place now. Rest in peace, dear cousin, and know that you were loved and will be missed.
