Obituary of Nicholas Robert Procenko

Procenko, Nicholas (Nick) Robert, passed away suddenly from natural causes in his sleep on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at his home in Kingston ON.  Nick is survived by his parents Nicholas and Marilyn (Spafford) Procenko of Markham ON, his brother Paul (Procenko) of Markham ON, his son David (Cheyenne Bradshaw) and grandchildren Kaley and Grayson of Toronto ON, and his daughter Katherine Procenko-Roberts of St John’s NL.  Nick was pre-deceased by his brother Michael.

Nick joined the army reserve as an armoured reconnaissance officer with the Ontario Regiment.  He resigned his commission, transferring to the Regular Force in 1981 and joining the Intelligence Branch in which he served in various positions at postings including Kingston, Lahr, Ottawa, and Toronto,  retiring in Kingston as a Warrant Officer in 2015.

A man of few words, who was the epitome of a gentleman ever ready to offer a hand to anyone who needed one, Nick will be greatly missed by his extended family and his many, many friends.

A military funeral service for Nick will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, July 21, 2023, at the cemetery in Sydenham ON, with a reception to follow at the Kingston Brewing Company at 34 Clarence Street, Kingston ON.  Serving members of the Canadian Forces are invited to wear their uniforms (DEU 1A).
