Obituary of Stephanie MCCAUGHEY

McCAUGHEY, Stephanie Peacefully, at the Kingston General Hospital surrounded by the love of her family, on Saturday, May 14, 2016, in her 73rd year. Stephanie (nee Harsant), was raised in Brantford, ON, by her parents, Alfred "Alf" and Stephanie (nee Krasker) Harsant. Loving wife of 48 years to Harry McCaughey of Yarker, ON and cherished mother of Tara McCaughey (Wayne Bennett) of Guelph and Bryce McCaughey of Victoria, BC. Stephanie was affectionately known as "Gram" to her adored grandchildren, Connor and Keira Bennett. She was a compassionate and caring wife, mother and grandmother with a lifelong dedication to learning and educating others. A lover of nature, bird watching and animals, she was also very passionate about travel, gardening, playing music with the mandolin and piano, crossword puzzles, fishing and especially the family cottage. The family extends sincere gratitude to her health care team at KGH, Kidd 7 (Acute Stroke Unit), for the exemplary care and compassion provided to Stephanie. In accordance with Stephanie's wishes, cremation has taken place in the care of James Reid Crematorium in Kingston. There will be no public visitation or service, however, the family will gather for a private ceremony. As expressions of sympathy and in recognition of Stephanie's fondness for animals, donations in her memory may be directed to your local Humane Society/SPCA.
