Priestly, John Harding
October 6, 1928 – February 6, 2023
On Monday February 6, 2023 at Arbour Heights at the age of 94, After a long fought battle John passed away, surrounded by his family, and waiting for him with open arms is the love of his life for 63 years his wife, Joan (Predeceased 2018). Left behind are his only daughter Linda (Mark) Jackson. Proud grandfather of Lindsay (Aaron) Villeneuve and Scott Jackson. Loving “GP” TO Dominique, Jimmy, Allie, Lachlan, Kaia and Haiden. Born in Swansea (Toronto) to William and Jean Priestly (Predeceased). Also predeceased by his sisters Ruth, Audrey and half siblings Gord, Beatrice, Bill and Reg.
Formerly of Brampton. Moved to Kingston to be closer to family. John had a 38 year employment as a pipe fitter for Canadian National Railway Spadina Yard. He transferred to the Willowbrook yard when GO Transit was first found.
John loved spending time with family and friends at his cottage in Pointe au Baril. Spending time cruising with Joan took him to many places around the world. He was always trying to be the next millionaire with his lottery tickets. He was an avid hunter and skeet shooter. Past president of the Humber Gun Club, York Skeet Club, and a lifetime member of the Canadian Indians Skeet Club.
The family would like to thank Dr. Ken Pritchard and the staff at Arbour Heights City Park for their excellent care. Thanks to Scott of CS Physiotherapy as well as his PSW’S from St. Elizabeth Lily, Peter, Chona, Patricia and Sharen.
A private family graveside service will take place February 11, 2022.
