Obituary of Barbara Moran
Barbara Moran
July 4, 1931-January 12, 2023
Surrounded by the love of her family, Barbara Eileen Moran (nee Davy) passed away peacefully at Providence Manor on January 12, 2023, in her 92nd year. Cherished wife of the late Kenneth Moran (2019), Barbara is survived by her children, Susan Nelson (Rick), Margaret Moran (Debra Sanders), Michael Moran (Karen) and Kathy Bews (Paul). She is fondly remembered as a loving Grandmother to Benjamin Nelson (Amelia) and Brady Nelson, Jennifer Moran (Peter) and Liam Moran (Jack), and Ceili, Conor and Kenneth Bews. Barbara is predeceased by her parents, Benjamin Davy and Eileen Goodman, her sisters, Irene McLeod and Marguerite Nicholson, and her son, James (Jimmy) Moran.
Barbara enjoyed the wonder of nature and wildlife in her backyard, swimming in her pool and welcoming family and friends in for a visit. She affectionately reminisced about friends made at Rideau Public School and KCVI as well as the Johnson Street and LaSalle Park neighbourhoods in Kingston. Barbara found joy in singing, and contributed to choirs in her youth at Cook’s United Church, and later at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Over the years, Barbara also enjoyed volunteer work with CNIB and the CWL.
We would like to extend a special thank you to the caring and compassionate Staff at Providence Manor.
