Obituary of Joseph Patrick Eardley
Joseph Patrick Eardley, age 88, passed away on Monday, September 19th. He gently departed this world surrounded by his children and grandchildren, after having received the final sacraments of the Church.
An Irish immigrant, Joe came to Canada in 1954. He worked in Bath as a civil draftsman for C.I.L for ten years, and later became a teacher with the Frontenac County Board, where he taught architectural drafting for 22 years. A union man, Joe represented and served his secondary colleagues as their District Officer for eleven years and never lost a grievance against the board of education.
Most importantly, Joe was the devoted husband of Patsy (nee Revell), for sixty-three years and the caring father of his five children: Maureen Jamieson, Terry Eardley( Joanne), Colleen Eardley-Hatz, Erin Eardley, Dan Eardley. He was the proud grandfather of eleven grandchildren: Eamon Hatz, Ryan Eardley, Shavaun Jamieson, Terris Eardley, Christian Hatz, Danielle Jamieson, Conor Eardley, Natasha Eardley, Kathleen Jamieson, Kane Jamieson, Rachel Trepanier and great grandchild Aidan Eardley, and his sibling to be born in January. Joe is survived by his sister Mary Bourdeau (Robert). He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Hilda Eardley, his son Terry Eardley, and his sisters Agnes Eardley, Kathleen Knowles ( Tom), Hilda Corless (Jack), Clare Thurston- Campbell ( Clarence, Tom). We will all miss him dearly but are grateful for the many years we had him in our lives and were the beneficiaries of his Catholic faith, wise council, love, and support.
May almighty God grant eternal rest onto him, and perpetual light shine upon him.
