Obituary of Patricia Ruth Campbell

On September 8th 2022, Patricia Ruth Campbell (nee Lamb) passed away peacefully at Rideaucrest.

Mom, a lifetime resident of Kingston, had just celebrated her 92nd birthday.

Mom was predeceased by her husband Howard, her son Bruce, brothers Jack and Jim and her closest and dearest friend, Lois Pelow.

She leaves behind two sons Ron (Jocelyne) and Mark (Gay) and grandchildren; Jennifer (Scott Cameron), Colin (Jennifer), Christine (James Thompson), Lauren (Mark Harmanmaa), Matthew (Maggie) and Great grandchildren; Weston, Adelle, Cadence and Maisy, and many extended family members and friends.

Mom was a lifelong parishioner of St James Anglican Church where she sang in the choir and was an accomplished soloist. It was there she met the love of her life Howard.

Family was everything, Mom has left us with so many great memories and words of wisdom.

She was a talented knitter, a great cook and an exceptional baker. Her Christmas baking included more than 140 kinds of squares, cookies and cakes. These were enjoyed by several organizations across Kingston and by friends and family. Her Christmas baking coolers were delivered to family no matter where they were living. She was especially proud of winning the best pumpkin pie contest at the Battersea Fall Fair.

We were very proud of Mom for  adapting and thriving to life after Howard. She enjoyed her friends and family to the fullest. For many years she swam every morning at 7 with friends at Artillery Park.

Mom was interred beside Howard in a private family service at Cataraqui Cemetery on September 16th.

Special thanks to Reverend Bob Hale (who officiated over several family celebrations), James Reid Funeral Home, Waterford Retirement Home, Rideaucrest and Valda Alves.

Friends wishing to honour Mom are invited to make a donation in her name to St. James Anglican Church, Kingston ON
