I have so many wonderful memories of Connie. I am one of the lucky people who got to spend a lot of time with her up to her very last days. Connie had such a beautiful voice, but always refused to attend any of my activities that had singing involved. I would have to “trick” her into it and ask for her help and advice and once we start our sing along she would be all in would not stop singing. I spent so much time with Connie that I even picked up some of her mannerisms. When Connie was happy or enjoying a special treat she would rub her hands together in a very unique way and then one day I found myself doing the same thing! Connie had a wonderful sense of humour and went along with my shenanigans daily. Connie’s smile would brighten my day, everyday that I saw her and is truly missed.

Who could ever forget Connie’s story of how she met Don.
Don, a familiar fixture seated in the Women’s Auxiliary cafeteria at the Kingston General Hospital. I live far from Kingston. I was not aware that Connie had been promoted to glory. In my mind’s eye I can see this lovely and gracious lady being reunited with one of the greatest gentleman I have ever had the privilege of knowing.
My sympathy to the family.

Saw two bluejays today and thought so fondly of both her and gramps looking down on us and checking in on their great grand baby.

Remembering quite fondly, Aunt Connie and Uncle Don. We crossed a generation when Aunts and Uncles weren't always related but still quite close and explaining the family tree was a 'challenge'. From you, I learned about golf, hospitality, friendship, patience, and who would answer the phone when I got in trouble, needed a ride home in Kermit, or missed the last bus at Yonge and Eglinton. Happily shared one of my bedrooms when you came to Toronto and you smiled as I marked papers during my first teaching job. Your eye roll was legendary! And, you knew more about sports references than I ever did!
Rest easy.
