Obituary of Sheila Frances Marsh

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Sheila Frances Marsh born on December 5, 1937, in Asbestos, Quebec. Sheila passed away peacefully at home on August 5, 2022. She is predeceased by her parents Thomas and Janet “Dow” Barclay, and husbands Randall Marsh and Edwin McCarthy. She is lovingly remembered by her stepchildren Bob McCarthy, Sue O’Shea (Mike), Kevin McCarthy, Lisa Marsh Russell, and Julie Castle (Ian) her step-grandchildren Jeffrey McCarthy, Calum Fraser, Maggie O’Shea, Myles O’Shea, Grayden Castle, Devin Castle, and one great-grandson Charles O’Shea.

Sheila moved to Kingston in May of 1973 where she operated The Glass House until 1999. Sheila loved traveling, exploring new places, and meeting new people, especially children, and animals. She also loved the experience of living downtown in Kingston.

Cremation has taken place. There will be a visitation held at the James Reid Funeral Home (1900 John Counter Blvd, Kingston ON) on Thursday, August 11, 2022, from 10-11 am, followed by a service in the Chapel at 11 am. Sheila will then be laid to rest at Cataraqui Cemetery.  With a reception to follow at the James Reid Funeral Home. Donations can be made to the Kingston Humane Society, SickKids, and, Heart and Stroke Foundation.
