I was deeply saddened to learn of Edith's passing. She was such a lovely, warm and charming woman. I was honoured to know her and work with her for a few years at Sydenham St. United. My sincere condolences to all her family.

Edith and I grew up in the same small town of Minnedosa, attended the United Church, were in choir and belonged to the Young Peoples' Group. After caravaning in the summer of '53, we decided to attend United College in the fall. We also decided to room together which we did for 3 years. We had many good times & even some exciting ones! After graduating we went out separate ways but reconnected in our senior years to catch up on our lives. It was with sadness that we learned of her health diagnosis a few years ago but much relieved to know that she was being very well cared for by family and a care home. Edith was a lovely, gentle, soft spoken, intelligent woman who will be missed. My sympathy to the family.

Cathy, Nancy & Your Families:
Please accept sincere condolences on Edith's passing. She was a wonderful person, a gifted educator and musician, and a true professional in everything she did. Above all, she was a valued and treasured friend.
Don was my former high school teacher who later became a mentor and teaching colleague. Over the years this association grew and we enjoyed many visits and attended numerous social events with Edith and Don. It was common place for them to stop at our house on their way to, or returning from, their Wolfe Lake cottage - we really miss these informal visits and will treasure them always.
With deepest sympathy, and may they now rest in peace together,
Jim & Lorraine Johnston

So many Wonderful memories of Edith. Our visits over the years with Edith and Don.
1st, memory of Edith, who ran every morning, rain, sleet, snow, or sun, she was dedicated. Edith was ahead of her time when it came to diet and healthy lifestyle.
Next wonderful memory was the special coffee pot, on every morning.
I still have not learned the magic that Edith had for making a cup of coffee and of course the muffins that came out of the oven to go with the coffee and fruit.
Edith taught me to love asparagus , where to go, to pick the best, to be cooked for dinner or made into soup.
Edith always made us feel at home, at the cottage or in Kingston. Nothing seemed to be work for her to entertain.
Simple and relaxed, That is an 'Art'
As Cathy know to this day I have wonderful memories of our time together.
Did I mention the strawberry shortcake ?
To You Cathy and your family, I hope you are at peace. This has been a long road and You have been an amazing daughter and caregiver
Big Hugs, Pat
