Obituary of Andre Alphonse Pregent

André Pregent

1932 - 2022

Andre Alphonse Pregent died unexpectedly on April 29, 2022 at his Chateau Kingsdale residence in Kingston, Ontario. He was born on August 2, 1932 in L’Orignal, Ontario where he was raised as one of fourteen children on the family farm. 

In the 1950s, he served in the military in Halifax aboard the HMCS Magnificent. Andre later worked in the Arctic as part of the Distant Early Warning Line radar chain. 

He married his bride, Roberta Ann Middleton, in 1956 in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia who now resides at Arbour Heights, Kingston.

Andre’s career in aircraft maintenance took him to Sept-Iles, Montreal, Quebec City, and Cozumel, Mexico. 

In 1987, he and Roberta owned and operated Harmer’s Housekeeping Cottages in Gananoque, Ontario for fifteen years, before retiring in Kingston.

Andre is also survived by sons Rene (Joanne), Rick (Mary-Frances), daughter Andrea (David), and grandchildren Peter and Michaela.
