Obituary of Patrick O'GRADY

O'GRADY, Patrick Joseph (Paddy)- Peacefully passed away, surrounded by his family, at Fairmount Home on Saturday, May 7, 2016, in his 80th year. Patrick, beloved husband of 58 years to Violet (Davis). Loving Dad of Holly Allen (Lance), Heather Sampson (predeceased husband, Jim), Daryl O'Grady and Mark O'Grady (Diana). He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Dustin, Dani (Alex), Brittany, Tyler, Devin, Erin and Sarah. Patrick was predeceased by his parents Bill and Helen O'Grady and by his brother Daniel O'Grady. He will be greatly missed by his twin sister Pauline Hart (predeceased husband, Pat) and by his extended family. Patrick was an active member of the Queen Street United Church and the Church Athletic League and was a proud retired Canada Post employee. Patrick' s family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff at Fairmount Home for the care that they provided through the years. Following cremation, Patrick's family will receive friends at the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd., Kingston, on Thursday, May 12, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A memorial service will be held, celebrating Patrick's life, in the chapel of the funeral home, on Friday, May 13, 2016 at 11:00am. For those who wish, donations in Patrick's memory may be made to Parkinson Canada or to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada.
