Obituary of Richard Berry
Richard Berry passed away March 22nd, 2022 at the age of 85 at Kingston General Hospital.
Richard spent his whole life in Kingston. In his early days, he attended Victoria Public School, KCVI and Albert College. On Saturdays, he enjoyed the family farm at Seeley’s Bay which included caring for his own calves. He really came alive at the family summer home in the 1000 Islands where he delighted in touring about the islands and pestering his father to buy a faster boat as speed was everything, which also meant racing the family car.
His working career was spent as a land surveyor, traveling the roads he had always loved with coworkers who became his friends.
More recently, Richard enjoyed a more relaxed pace. He loved reading, family time and all animals. In the last few years, most of his joy came from visits with his three grandsons. He was a loved, proud grandpa.
Richard will greatly be missed by his loving wife Jane, married 45 years, his two children, Nathan (Ashley) and Margaret (Annika) and his cherished grandchildren, Richard, George and Spencer. He also leaves behind his siblings, Jim (Diane), Julia (Mark) and Susan (Robert) who all have many happy memories together.
A graveside service will be held at Olivet United Church (3258 Cty. Road 32, Seeley's Bay) at 11:00 am on June 18th.
