Obituary of Juanita Mae Baker

Died unexpectedly, but peacefully on Thursday April 9th 2020.  next to her spouse Stu and knowing family was nearby. Juanita, age 60, of Sydenham, died due to a stroke in the Intensive Care Unit of the Kingston General Hospital while attempting to recover from brain surgery.

Juanita is survived by her beloved spouse of 25 years, Stu Rawding, and her siblings Randy, Roxy (Rodger) Hedberg, Cathy (John) Rows, Ron, Denise and Fred. Juanita was a selfless and loving mother and will be greatly missed by her children Ryan Baker (Bayleigh) and Melissa (Scot) Green. She will be thought of fondly as a second mother to Lyndon Rawding and Bryce (Tina) Rawding. Juanita was a fun and caring grandmother to Keaton, Tinley, Duren, Paisley, Miila, Dallas, Georgia and the two babies due this spring. She will be deeply missed by her many cousins and forever remembered by all her nieces and nephews. Juanita is predeceased by her parents, George and Mary Truscott and her brothers Reg (Bettie) and Billy.

A devoted and loyal employee of Woolco/ WalMart for 42 years, Juanita loved being outside, the cottage on Knowlton Lake, pickleball, plants and animals (especially her dog, Kysha). She enjoyed warm weather and her annual trip to Cuba with Tim, Peggy, Stu and any other friends and family they could get to tag along. When indoors, she was a master of crossword puzzles, a walking scrabble dictionary and spent her time wrapped in a housecoat, drinking coffee while playing on her iPad. She will be remembered most for her devotion to her family, the sacrifices she made for her children and the joy she brought to all those who had the pleasure of knowing her. The pain of this loss is only surpassed by the happiness she brought into all our lives.

A celebration of life will be scheduled once gatherings are appropriate at a later date.
