Keith Allen Morphet

1932-2022

Keith died peacefully in hospital on Feb 2nd. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 61 years, his two sons, daughter-in-law and many nieces and nephews in the USA, Ontario and Newfoundland. He was predeceased by his parents Georgina and Roy; his sisters Irene and Joyce; and, infant daughter Lynn.

Keith had a varied career and interesting work background. He worked on Morgan Bowser’s farm at Billings on Manitoulin Island in his early teens. He served as an RCAF aero-engine technician, flight instructor (T-33 pilot); and, as a Toronto police constable. After attending Carleton and Western Universities, he graduated with an electrical engineering sciences degree and was an educator of computer science and mathematics at Algonquin College in Ottawa. He received a master’s degree in instructional design and measurement and finished his career after 27 years in the field of education. He was also a devout man who served many churches as an elder and offered friendship to many through active lay-care.

Upon his request, there will be no funeral. Keith’s remains will be interred in Sheguiandah (Elmview cemetery) on Manitoulin Island at later date. His family would like to thank the staff at KGH on both Connell floors 3 and 9 who so dedicatedly cared for him throughout a month’s illness. They request that any memorial donations be made to the Presbyterian World Development fund, Strathcona Park or Trinity Presbyterian Churches in Kingston Ontario.
