Obituary of Claudia Percy

PERCY, Claudia

1942 - 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Claudia Percy on New Year's day 2022 at Rideaucrest Home in Kingston. Most would know Claudia as being from Verona but after the passing of her beloved husband David (2007), she migrated to Kingston in the following few years. 

Claudia was the proud Mother of Gord, Steve and Joe (Amy) and loving Grandmother to Paige, Ethan, Barrett and Addison. Claudia was part of the large Stevenson family, including many Sisters and Brothers as well as her deceased parents. She will be fondly remembered as kind and bubbly person who loved to laugh and talk up a storm. She worked in a variety of different capacities throughout her life but most notably she spoke often of her times at Hotel Dieu Hospital, Glenelda's Fashions, and the Verona Flower Shop. She also reminisced about her time as a swimming instructor when she was a Teenager and that she was quite an athlete too, with the nickname of "Hopper".

Claudia was most happy with family and friends. She loved our big family gatherings, with a mixture of the Percy and Stevenson sides and special parties with her many great friends in Verona. She was very fond of going to Rivendell Golf Club in Verona where she enjoyed being a spectator and doting Mother.

The family would like to thank the staff of Rideaucrest Home for their care and compassion over the last 6 years. 

Due to current restrictions the family will hold a service at James Reid Funeral Home when restrictions have lifted.
