Obituary of John Harwood Stryde

John Stryde (Jack) 90

September 26, 1931 - October 4, 2021

 

Jack peacefully passed in Kingston. Born in Montreal, he was an avid sports fan which saw him play professional football, ski patroller/instructor, and enjoy golfing.

Jack retired from his successful 36 years with Bell Canada.

He enjoyed world travel with his predeceased wife Ann (nee Dunning) and found a special place in PEI which he held close to his heart for his remaining years.

Jack is survived by his sister Joan, loving father to Steven, Nancy and husband Neil, John, Maureen, Bruce and “Bampa” to his 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

As he enjoyed the last few years on his scooter, he will be missed dearly by his community of friends.

Jacks’ cheerful one liner humor will truly be missed by all.

While living in the county, one of the grandkid’s asked him “When living in the county, how long do you live?

Bampa reply: “you live as long as you are remembered”
