When I had the pleasure of knowing Vicki at Monkseaton High School in the UK I nevef realised what a great woman she would become. Unfortunately after losing touch with her when we left school I never realised what she had actually achieved in her career and life until now. My thoughts are with all her family and friends. Lynne

Vicki was a woman of great heart. With a heart full of good wishes for the needy. Always collaborated with Alliance to helping children and work for them. His smile lit many sad faces of children who just needed love. We will miss you. Peace and hope for their son Anthony and his family.

Our deepest condolences go to all of Vicki's family and friends at this sad time. Vicki worked alongside me at the British Embassy in Costa Rica from 2006 as my deputy. In all my years in the UK Foreign Office, I met only a handful of others who were as quick, talented and able as Vicki. She was tireless, professional and absolutely brilliant at her work. She did huge work in particular for abused children in Costa Rica, including getting changes made to the country's laws. She would do anything for anyone and I could not have wanted for a better colleague and friend. She was also a great soccer player (and Liverpool FC supporter) and contributed to the growth of women's soccer in Costa Rica. My wife Clare, our son James and I are all terribly saddened at her death. We are making a donation in her memory and hope you will understand that, alongside the good Canadian cause you have named, which we are sure will receive good contributions, we shall contribute to the Costa Rican child rights organisation Alianza por tus Derechos with whom Vicki had a really close relationship and who - especially its two feisty (like Vicki)women heads Rocio and Adriana - remember her with great affection, and where she helped achieved many important things using Embassy funding. Should anyone else be interested their English language donation page is at http://en.alianzaportusderechos.org/article/frequently-asked-questions/
With Deepest Sympathy,
Tom Kennedy, British Ambassador to Costa Rica and Nicaragua, 2006-11 and family

Sending heartfelt condolences to Vicki's family and friends at this time. I did not know Vicki, but reading her obituary and seeing this smiling picture of her made me see the sad truth behind depression and mental illness, life is precious and often far too short. I hope Vicki has found a peace that she could not find here. Rest in the arms of the angels Vicki, perhaps there is a far greater plan for you from above. Shine down on those you love.
Anonymously with a heavy heart.

Vicki. While I was growing up, you were somebody I looked up to and admired for your intelligence, talent and all that you accomplished - I wish I had told you that. You had such a warm heart and did so much to help other people. I'm proud of you too. I'm glad you're at peace now, but I'll miss you. Kimberley xxx

You are greatly missed by so many. You touched more lives than I think even you knew, and made many changes for the better to causes you held dear. I am sorry that you could not find your way back to happiness and light. I know that you are finally at peace. I love you.
