Obituary of Leonard LANGEVIN
LANGEVIN, Leonard (Len) Philip - born Feb. 17, 1923 Tweed, Ontario.
It is with sadness that the family of Len Langevin announce his death, of natural causes on April 7th, 2016 at KGH. Len leaves behind his beloved wife of over seventy years, Lucille née Morin. Together they had six children, Muriel, (Joe Duhamel), Pauline, Philip (Jean McNeil) Jacqueline, (David Thompson)Janet, (Wayne Clowery) and Hélène,( Bill Belsey), eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Len was born in Sulphide Ontario to Joanna née Durocher and Felix Langevin. He was predeceased by his sisters Elda McGrath, Bernice Lovekin and his brothers Bernard and Charles. Lucille and Len were both members of the R.C.A. F. and they met in Trenton in 1944. Len couldn't resist Lucille's charm and they were married in 1945. After the war Len worked in the Sulphuric acid plant in Sulphide as the chief electrician. In 1955 they moved to Three Rivers in Quebec where he worked as an electrician for a Pulp and paper company. In 1957 they moved to Verennes where Len worked as a supervisor for Canadian Titanium Pigment, where he worked for the next thirty years until he retired. Len and Lucille retired to Kingston in 1987 and they also bought a cottage on Amherst Island that became a gathering place for all their children and their families. Together Len and Lucille enjoyed golf and their travels took them to the Carribean, Hawaii, across Canada and often to Panama City Beach in Florida where they enjoyed warm winters. Len always took care of his family who will always remember him lovingly. In keeping with Len s wishes cremation will be followed by a Liturgy of the Word service in the Chapel of the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd., on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 11:00am. Friends will be received by the family on Thursday from 10:00am-10:45am, before the service. A family Rite of Committal service will be held at St. Mary s Catholic Cemetery.
