Obituary of Pete CORKEY

CORKEY, Pete (Wilfred Patrick Francis)- In his 81st year, Pete went to his eternal reward at Kingston General Hospital, following a massive heart attack, on Friday, April 1, 2016, with his loving wife Iris (Martin) and family by his side. Beloved father of Mary Elizabeth (Terry Stallwood) of Winnipeg, Patricia (Doug Ouellette) of Cold Lake, AB, Peter of Sioux Narrows, ON, John Paul (Charlaine) of Airdrie, AB and Scott Martin of Holleford, ON. Pete is survived by his brothers and sisters, Annette, Joe, Mary, Gary, Simon (Linda), Monica, Christina, Bernardine (Rob Cowperthwaite), his in-laws Lois Boon, Eva and Les Smith, Earla and Jerry Horton, and Muriel Martin, 5 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Wilfred Corkey and Monica (Whalen), his brother Wilfred Edmund, his sister Loretta and his nephews Kevin Corkey and Bobby Smith. A celebration of Pete's life will be held at JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Boulevard, on Tuesday, April 5, 2016. Relatives and friends will be received between the hours of 11:00 am and 12:50 pm. The funeral service in the Chapel at 1:00pm with Marty Votary officiating, will be followed by a reception in the Reception Centre. Pete will be laid to rest at St. Mary's Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Pete.
