Jennifer joined the staff at Lennox and Addington County Museum and Archives in 1983 to work on a Bicentennial Heritage Project. That eventually morphed into almost two decades as Archivist. Even when Jennifer retired, she continued to collect for us, and assist with adding historical context to our database entries. Jennifer, as I do, believed that an Archivist also needs to be a historian. She had a gift for weaving the historical story from archival evidence and an uncanny ability to remember photographs and illustrations. We have lost a friend and colleague with a great mind and passion for archives. The last 7 months have been sad times, but Jennifer addressed these challenges with the same "mind over matter" approach that we grew to admire. It has been a privilege to have known and worked with Jennifer, and shared her friendship. Jane Foster, Napanee

I was deeply saddened by the news of Jennifer s passing and quickly overcome with warm memories of the times I was lucky enough to enjoy her presence, both as a lone arranger at the Lennox and Addington County Museum and Archives and as an instructor on the road. I especially remember the decade where I was privileged to join her in teaching courses in archival studies across the province. From cars dying on the side of the road at night to lecture halls where the management forgot to set up the tables and chairs, every presentation had its moments but her determination and laughter always carried us through. She was the last of a generation of archivists that we will not see the like of again. Paul McIlroy, Toronto.

I was fortunate to work with Jennifer when she began her career at the Picture Division, Public Archives of Canada. Jennifer's intelligence and professionalism allowed her to create a very useful and easily accessed series of categories for prints, drawings and paintings that documented early Canadian history. I shared her ideas with Mary Allodi at the Royal Ontario Museum. I was fortunate to enjoy the friendship of Jennifer and Mark throughout my life. I shall miss Jen and her Chistmas newletters. John and I will keep Cleah and the family in our thoughts and prayers. We plan to visit Cleah this spring since we have a prior engagement on April 16. Peter Kaellgren, Curator Emeritus, ROM
