Obituary of Christine FLYNN

Flynn, Christine (nee Duncan) - November 24, 1938 - March 23,2016 - Loving wife of Geoffrey and beloved mother of Andrew (Lisa) and Debbie (Phil). Proud Nanny of Aidan (and mom Audrey), Kate and Charlotte. Predeceased by her youngest son Mitchell (2005). Fondly remembered by her nephews Paul and Stuart in the UK and by sister-in-law Margaret and nieces Ruth and Rachel. Born in Sydenham, England, Chris emigrated with Geoff and Andy to Canada in 1967. She was proud to boast that she was English by birth, Welsh by accident and Canadian by choice. The family rock in good times and in bad, she travelled the world in her retirement years, returning to the beauty and peace of her lakeside home in Bath, ON, where she never failed to welcome family and friends with warmth, food, drink and fun. The family wishes to thank palliative care nurses Aidan and Jim and particularly Sally Benoit for her extraordinary and caring nursing of Chris in her final days. We also thank Dr. Kathy Moore for her continued compassion and Dr. Stephanie Connidis and her palliative care team for their very kind support. A celebration of life will be held at James Reid Funeral Home (1900 John Counter Blvd.) on Tuesday March 29, 2016 at 11.00 am, followed by a reception in the James Reid Reception Centre. If people wish, as expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Partners in Mission Food Bank.
