I was so sorry to learn of Iris's death, although I hadn't seen her in years. I knew her through her shop "Julia's" in the Frontenac Mall. The first time I visited the shop was with my son Jay, who was four at the time. We were from England, too, so there was that bond, but she was most taken with my little boy as he reminded her of her son Paul (who she loved very much and spoke of often) when he was that age. She asked me to bring Jay in with me when I happened to be in the Mall, which I did. She often looked after him while I went shopping and gave him his first paid job - he sorted items in the back room for which she paid him 25 cents. He was delighted. He called her Miss Iris. I am so sad for you all in your loss.
