Obituary of Julius Jr. Marchand

MARCHAND, Julius Jr.
October 13, 1933-March 19, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Julius Jr. Marchand . He passed away peacefully in his 84th year surrounded by love, at Providence Care Hospital Palliative Care Unit in Kingston, ON.  He leaves his loving wife of 47 years, Joan (Clendenning) Marchand; his son, Michael and daughter-in-law Hannah, and daughter Patricia and son-in-law Alex. From his late wife Joan Peak, his children Robin, Kerry, Cindy, Jaimie (Gilda) and Kelly (Linne), his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Julius' favourite dog, Jimmy will miss him too. Dad always talked fondly of his early years growing up in Goose village (Victoria Town, Montreal), his involvement in sports, particularly softball, hockey and his years working in the CN.  We would like to thank the dedicated and caring staff of the palliative care team for caring for his needs through this phase of his life, which allowed family to soak up the remaining time he had left on this earth before joining God. Cremation in the care of James Reid Crematorium.  Friends and family will be received at JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Boulevard, Kingston, ON on Friday, March 23 from 2:00 pm until 2:50 pm. The Liturgy of the Word will follow in the Chapel at 3:00 pm.  All are welcome to a reception at the conclusion of the service. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to U.H.K.F. (Palliative Care at Providence Care Hospital) in Mr. Marchand's memory.
Julius will be greatly missed by his wife, his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
"Go with God, Dad."
