Obituary of Jean Margaret Griffin

GRIFFIN, Jean Margaret (Jo)
Died peacefully at the Kingston General Hospital, on Friday, March 2, 2018 with family by her side at  age 94. Born in Toronto, Ontario on October 23, 1923 to Lullamae (Patterson) West and Percy Cameron West, Jean grew up in Toronto. After moving to Kingston in 1960, she worked at the Alcan Research Centre and Queen's University as an executive assistant. Jean is pre-deceased by her beloved husband Gerald Walter (Mick) and survived by her sons; Bruce (wife Patricia), Brian (wife Linda) and Philip (wife Brenda); grandchildren Amanda (partner Eric), Sean (partner Stephanie), Kelly (husband E.J.), Christian (wife Emily), Lindsay (husband Steven) and Bradley (fiancé Ashley); and great grandchildren Maéva, Kaeden, Peyton, Sloane and Charlotte. Jean's funeral service will be held at ST. PETER'S ANGLICAN CHURCH, 4333 Bath Road, Kingston at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2018. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 1:50 p.m.  Jo will be laid to rest with her husband Mick, in The National Cemetery of Canada at Beechwood Cemetery in Ottawa. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations made to St. Peter's Anglican Church would be appreciated by the family. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the nursing staff and doctors of KGH, Davies 3 for the compassion and loving care they so graciously gave to Jean in her final days.
