Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Taugher
TAUGHER, Mary Elizabeth, (nee Puttenham). Retired; Kingston General Hospital Nurse.
Peacefully, with her sons at her side, Mary passed away at Providence Care Hospital on Wednesday Feb. 14, 2018. Mary, in her 86th year, was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Edwin Taugher. Loving mother of Michael (predeceased) (Ros) of Nanaimo, B.C., Jay (Cathy and grandchildren Kiana and Colin) of Belleville, Kyle (Sharon and grandchildren Connor and Katie) of Merrickville. Survived by her sister Dorothy (Mario Popazzi and children Robert and Laura), brother-in-law Jack & Carol and family, and Jim and family.
Mary, was an eager host to social events for family and friends, from organizing holiday dinners for the extended family, to hosting boaters at their home on Wolfe Island. She enjoyed travelling and undertook many adventures to warmer climates. An avid reader Mary was never to be found without a book or a sweater. She will always be missed and remembered by a large number of family and friends.
A celebration of life for Mary will be held on Saturday, March 17th, 2018 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Ambassador Hotel and Conference Center in the Lisbon room. In lieu of flowers, for those wishing to express their sympathies, people are asked to make a donation to the charity of their choice.
