It is with great sadness and broken hearts we announce the passing of Dr. Mahmood Afnan Aalaie on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at the age of 61. Predeceased by his parents; Abbas and Tooran (Shiraz, Iran). He leaves behind the love of his life, Shekooh. Forever missed by his siblings; Hossein (Mehry), Esfand (Mojgan), Vida (Bahadoor), Bahman (Mehrnoosh), Safoorah (Paymon) and Farid. To share wonderful memories of their father he leaves behind his children, Adib (Shiva), Mahsa (Amir) and Mahshid (Ardalan). He will be forever missed by his grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind many friends in Canada and Iran.

Dr. Afnan was a kind-hearted person whose life was exemplified by his generosity, humility, sacrifice and humanity both in his personal and professional lives.  He was loved by many and was always happy and thinking of everyone else's comfort and well being. He believed that no heart should be saddened and did his utmost to make everyone laugh.  He was large as life!  He immigrated to Canada in 2010 from Iran to be with his family.  He is a member of the Baha'i Community of Kingston.

Please join his family in celebrating Mahmood's life at a Baha'i Funeral Service to be held Friday, February 9th, 2018 at 1 pm at JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Blvd. He will be laid to rest at Cataraqui Cemetery.  There will also be a memorial service held in Shiraz, Iran in his honour where over 600 people are expected to attend.

Reception

All are welcome to join Dr. Aalaie's family in the Reception Centre of the James Reid Funeral Home following the graveside ceremony, for a time of fellowship and remembering. A light lunch will be provided.
