Don has gone to be with his Lord, surrounded by the love of his life, his wife Connie, at his home in Bath, ON on Friday, December 1, 2017, at the age of 83. Don, beloved husband of 63 years to Connie (nee Gray). Loving Dad of Sandi Garland and proud Gramps of Cait Cowan. Don was predeceased by his parents Leslie and Audrey Garland and is the brother of Douglas Garland. Don was an avid golfer, never giving up an opportunity to spend the day on the course with one of his many friends. He was a lover of many sports, he coached hockey and loved spending time at the soccer pitch watching his granddaughter playing in her younger years. Don was also very passionate about his faith, helping out with as many church functions and activities as he could during his lifetime, most recently with the Salvation Army, Kingston Citadel. Cremation has been entrusted to the James Reid Crematorium. Don’s family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd., Kingston. A service celebrating Don's life will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 11:00 am at The Salvation Army Kingston Citadel, 816 Centennial Dr. Kingston. For those who wish donations may be made to The Salvation Army, in Don’s memory.
