Obituary of Douglas George Shelton

SHELTON, Douglas George
Passed away peacefully on November 21, 2017 at the age of 73 with his family by his side.  Dearly loved husband of Carol Shelton, loving father of Owen (Sheri) Shelton and Matthew (Laura) Shelton, cherished grandfather of Holly, Jaxon, Jacob, Mitchell, and Tyler.  Predeceased by his parents George and Marguerite Shelton (nee Amey), and his sister Linda Shelton.  Doug proudly graduated from Queens University in 1966 with a degree in mechanical engineering.  He married his high school love Carol in June of that same year.  Doug retired in 1999 after a 32 year career with Ontario Hydro which took his family around the province and ultimately settling in Sarnia.   He enjoyed curling, bowling, golf, and billiards, and reunions with “The Lads”.  He will be dearly remembered by family and friends.  In accordance with Doug’s wishes cremation has taken place.  Family and friends will be received at the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd., Kingston, on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 10:30 am.  A service celebrating Doug’s life will commence at 11:00 am in the chapel followed immediately by a reception.  In lieu of flowers, sympathy may be expressed through a donation to the Canadian Liver Foundation or a charity of your choice.
