Obituary of Doreen Arvilla Norman

Doreen Arvilla Norman
August 18, 1924 – November 13, 2017
Doreen was born in, Burnaby, BC in 1924 and died peacefully in Kingston on Monday, November 13, 2017, in her 94th year.  Doreen, beloved wife of Ron (2009).  She will be sadly missed by her children Arlene (the late Wilf), Carol (Jack) and Greg (Lynn), her grandchildren Charles (Allison), Matthew (Alison), Patrick (Jenny), Andrew (Kathryn), Amy, Chris and Nicholas, her five great grandchildren Jonah, Dylan, Aurora, Camilla and Emilia and by her extended family Mike and Judy Johannes.  Doreen was predeceased by her parents and her brother Ted Smith and is survived by her dear sister Beverly, brother Bob (Virginia) and sister-in-law Peggy.  The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses at the Providence Care Hospital as well as the staff at The Royale Place especially Candace and head nurse Kathy who have helped Doreen throughout the last few years.  In keeping with Doreen's wishes, cremation has taken place.  A gathering in Doreen's memory will be held in the Reception and Celebration Centre of the James Reid Funeral Home (1900 John Counter Blvd, rear entrance) on Friday, November 17, 2019 from 1-3 pm.  As expressions of sympathy, donations in Doreen's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the UHKF (Providence Care Hospital).
