Peacefully passed away at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie, ON, on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at the age of 95. Eric beloved husband of the late Eleanor (nee Nason). Proud father of James Murray (Marnie), Patricia Murray, Phyllis Murray (Jim), and Eleanor “Tina” Jones (Larry). He will be forever missed by his grandchildren Jason Large (Karey-Anne), Amy Allison (Peter), Christopher Murray (Laura), Lindsay Morrissey (Shawn), Eric and Ryan Ekblad and Steven and Cody Jones, as well as his great-grandchildren Devin and Nolan Large, William and Grace Allison, Carrie Ekblad and Emma and Lucas Morrissey.
Eric was a long-time member of Cooke’s Portsmouth United Church, was an avid golfer, and loved fishing, playing bridge, everything to do with photography and his home computer.
Eric’s family will receive friends at Cooke’s Portsmouth United Church (200 Norman Rogers Drive, Kingston) on Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 2:00 – 2:50 pm followed by a service celebrating his life at 3:00 pm. A reception will be held in the church hall immediately following the service.
