Obituary of Annie Marion Larocque

Marion, in her 98th year, died as a result of a fall in her home in Kingston, Ontario. Beloved wife of Lloyd Larocque (pre-deceased). Loving mother of John (Jennie Scott) of Canberra, Australia, Fred (Rosemary) of Oshawa, Margaret Malfara (Tony) of Ottawa and Susan Orgill (David) of Kingston.

Loving grandma of Sean (Nicole), Michael (Jor-Dan) and Daniel Larocque (Candace); Rebecca (Wayne Toner), Kate and Martha Orgill (Travis); Emily (Andrew Laliberte), Teresa and Philip Malfara.

Dear great-grandma of Gracie and Breanna Larocque, Soleil Larocque, Hayden and Crosby Toner, and step-great-grandma to Zoe and Charlotte Scott.

Dear aunt of Michael Yearsley (Judy), godmother to Barbara Biagi (Jim) and special friend of Mary Sullivan.

Marion will be greatly missed by her many friends and extended family in Conservatory Pond, Lindsay, Little Britain, Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver. Marion was an accomplished artist, potter and gardener. She was instrumental in establishing the Lindsay Art Gallery, involved with the Historical Society of Victoria County, the Little Britain United Church and Edith Rankin United Church. She was a long-time member of Amnesty International.

Marion had a long life filled with adventure beginning with marriage (1946), and children in St. Lambert, Quebec. In 1961 they moved to Little Britain, Ontario with their four children to run the local grocery store. After a few years they built a house on 25 acres and raised sheep, chickens, Guinea hens, goats, and horses!

Marion always strived to learn something new every day and make a difference in her community. She strongly believed in having a purpose. Hers was to welcome people and extend hospitality. In lieu of flowers, please extend hospitality in her memory. Donations may also be made to Edith Rankin United Church or University Hospitals Kingston Foundation.

Thanks to the wonderful, caring staff at KGH.
