1924 - 2017
Marvin passed quietly at home on September 17, 2017. Son of the late Vernal and Bessie (McCance). Predeceased by his wife Doris (Day) in 2001 and daughter Karen in 2000. Loving father of Donald and Dianna (Doug) Smith. Proud grandfather of David Smith, Carrie (Jim) Fisher and Colleen (Ryan) Carron. Also a very proud great grandfather of Grace, Megan and Erin Smith and Brandon and Kaitlin Carron. He was predeceased by brothers Collamer (Rita) and Percy (Bertha) Busch. Dad was a 65 years (plus) member of Oddfellows Lodge Cataraqui Granite # 10. Past Master of Prince Arthur Lodge # 228, Odessa and long time member of Albion Masonic Lodge Harrowsmith #109, Past President and long time member of Rameses Shrine Club, Kingston and a member of Frontenac Chapter #90 Eastern Star. Visitation in memory of Marv for friends and family will be held at James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd. on Thursday, September 21, from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. There will be an Oddfellows service at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday and Masonic service at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, all brother and sister Lodges welcome. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday, September 22 at 11 a.m. Interment Cataraqui Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to U.H.K.F. (Cancer Centre of South Eastern Ontario) or Shriner Hospitals for Children - Canada would be very much appreciated.
