Obituary of Jane Jung
JUNG, Jane
May 26 1961 - September 4 2017
Beloved daughter of Erik and Yrsa Sorensen
The family and friends are saddened to inform you of Jane's passing at KGH on September 4, 2017 after a 3 year battle with cancer. Jane had remarkable strength in all things - in life, love, laughter and learning. Her courageous will to conquer a determined cancer, gave us an inspiration that will be remembered forever. Her zest and kindness are alive in all of us. Jane was surrounded in great comfort by many family and friends during the most difficult days of this journey. Survived by her loving husband Les, loving mom to Tylor (Rachael) granddaughter Isabelle. Also survived by her loving parents Erik and Yrsa , brothers and sister, Fred (Cynthia), Solvejg (Steve) , Jim (Virginia), Tony , Carl (Victoria), brother-in-law Stan (Kim), and Gord, stepchildren Laurie, grandchildren Alex , Abigail; Krysta , and Lorne and also greatly missed by many nieces and nephews. Can't forget her canine companion Tucker. I must also mention the many, many wonderful close friends that came into Jane's life over the years , either through her hair styling business or just everyday life activities. Some friends so close I called them family. She had a place in her heart for all. A special thanks to the wonderful oncology team at KGH Cancer Center and the community palliative care team; a very dedicated group who make every moment matter and always leave the patient feeling very special. I must also give huge gratitude to the nursing care from the community. Wendy & Lynn, God bless you for your never ending devotion to patient care. Our community is a better place because of all of these great care givers. In keeping with Jane’s wishes cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received on Friday, September, 8, 2017 from 1-3 and 6-8 pm at the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd. A service celebrating Jane’s life will be held on Saturday, September, 9, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Edith Rankin Memorial United Church, 4080 Bath Road, Kingston. In lieu of flowers donations in Jane’s memory may be made to Kingston Humane Society or Edith Rankin Memorial United Church.
