PALMER, Edward Melvin " Mel "
On Friday, September 1, 2017 at the age of 92,  Mel passed away peacefully at Rideaucrest Home in Kingston. Beloved husband of 62 years to the late Mary Palmer ( Creighton ). Loving father of David (Donna) of Calgary, Cathryn Ferguson (Ken) of Vancouver Island, Carolyn Kirkham (Allan) of Picton,  and John (Denise) of Michigan. Wonderful Grandad to Ashleigh (Quentin) , Steven (Tara), Michael (Amanda), James (Alicia), Jonathan (Katelyn), Krystyna ( Jason ), Bradley, Jordan and Jenna. Great Grandad of Sarah, Rory, Logan and Jaxon. Dear brother of Bob ( Marilyn ) and Ed ( Theresa )  and the late Bud Palmer and Eleanor McKenna. Mel's greatest joy in life was his family and will be dearly missed by all of them.  He especially loved family dinners, celebrations, and reunions.  His love of camping and the outdoors brought him many years of enjoyment. Resting at JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Boulevard. Family and friends will be received  Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m and 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel on Friday, September  8, 2017 at 1:30 pm. Interment at Cataraqui Cemetery will be followed by a reception in the James Reid Reception Centre.  As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to St. Peter's Anglican Church or the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Mel's memory would be appreciated by the family.

At the conclusion of the Graveside Service, all are welcome to join with the family in a Reception in the James Reid Reception Centre. For those who wish not to travel to the cemetery you may proceed directly to the Reception Centre.
