Georgina Hitchcock

Obituary of Georgina Harriet Hitchcock

HITCHCOCK, Georgina Harriet -
(nee Johnston)
April 21, 1940 - August 10, 2017
It is with heavy hearts that Georgina's family announce her sudden passing on Thursday.  Georgina quietly left us to join her beloved Ken whom she dearly missed. Georgina will be sorrowfully missed by her daughters, Kim and Kelly, her sons-in-law Martin and Scott, her grandchildren Allan, Brianna and Ben and her great-granddaughter, Kimberly. Georgina was eagerly awaiting the arrival of our new addition to the family, Bryce in November. Georgina is survived by her loving sister, Geraldine, a sister-in-law Carol (Robby), her nieces Joanne (Michael) and Carole (Eric) and nephews Gary (Cyndy-Dawn) and Darryl (Julie) and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Georgina is predeceased by her parents, Robert and Doris Johnston. Georgina lived her life as a wife and mother in the truest sense of the words.  She cared for the love of her life Ken and with him raised their two daughters.  There was never a shortage of baked goods at home and many enjoyed the labours of her knitting which included numerous baby blankets and pairs of socks. Georgina's nurturing spirit touched so many lives from her daughters to all the children she cared for while their parents worked.  She carried a special place in heart for two young ladies in particular Amanda and Michelle.  She was very proud of these two young women and the lives they built for themselves. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Georgina's life with visitation on Friday, August 18, 2017 at JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Blvd. from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Georgina will be interred at SANDHILL CEMETERY, Storrington Township on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 11a.m., with Reverend Lewis Bryant officiating. A reception will follow at the Storrington Centre until 2 p.m.  All welcome. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the South Frontenac OPP detachment and Dr. Armita Rahmani for their compassion and expertise.  In lieu of flowers donations will be accepted to the Storrington Retirees Association or charity of your choice.
