With heavy hearts we announce the passing of James Charles Dunn (Jim). After a long battle with Cancer Jim passed away peacefully at the age of 76, in Kingston Ontario Canada on Saturday June 24th, 2017.
Jim was a loving husband of 56 years to Carolyn Dunn, a devoted father to his children Sharon and Joe, and a wonderful Papa to his grandchildren Kerry (Uddhav) and Douglas, Jesse.
Survived by his late sister Margaret’s husband John Lloyd; Jim adored his niece Cathy (Gordon), his nephews Richard (Kim), Graham (Shelley) as well as his great niece Sabrina and great nephews Christopher, John and Michael.
Jim was known to many and a kind man, and a man who lived for his family and friends. Jim loved spending time in the country, and in the cottage he built there. You would often find him touring the countryside on his 4 wheeler, or cruising down the lake in his boat. Always willing to help anyone in need, equipped with a smile, and a laugh.
Jim had many close friends who will miss him deeply. He was a proud community contributor. Jim was a member in good standing of the Masonic Order and was the Master of Dorchester Lodge #4 in 1974, once becoming a Shriner, Jim was inducted into the Royal order of Jesters in 1975.
Jim was also part time resident of Redington Shores Florida for more than 40 years. There he was able to spend his last 17 winters with his wife, enjoying the weather and scenery in company of dear friends.
