Obituary of Lorne Bert Johnston

JOHNSTON, Lorne B.
April 12, 1962 - June 24, 2017

Long time employee of Queen's University and proud member of CUPE Local 229
Following a brief illness, Lorne died unexpectedly at Kingston General Hospital surrounded by the love of family.  Beloved husband of Betty (nee Tugwood) who predeceased him in 2010.  Loving father of Lorne, Betsy (Mike) and Paul (Linda).  Affectionately known as "Grampa" to Hannah, Isabelle, Hailey and Emmett.  Lorne was a dear son to Bonnie Johnston and the late Bert Johnston, loved brother of Mark (Martina) and proud uncle to R.J.  Cremation in the care of James Reid Crematorium.  The family will receive friends at the JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Boulevard, on Tuesday, July 4 between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., and prior to the service on Wednesday, July 5 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:50 a.m.  The funeral service will begin in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m., with Reverend Curtis Wilson officiating.  Following the interment at Cataraqui Cemetery, all are welcome to a reception in the Reception Centre.  As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to KGH Auxiliary or Kingston Humane Society in Lorne's memory.
