Obituary of R. John LeGros

1944 – 2017
On Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at the Kingston General Hospital, with his loved ones close by, our John finally got to join the love of his life, Diane, on their long awaited walk in the woods.  John is predeceased by his beloved wife Diane (Forrester).  He is the well-loved Grampa of David Miller-Brown, loving father of Elizabeth Brown and her wife Terry Verlinden, father-in-law of Edwige Miller and close friend and “father” of Bernard Betts.  John was predeceased by his parents Sydney and Margaret LeGros and is survived by his dear sisters Vera Kendall (Bob), and Jane O’Reilly (Bob) and brother Peter LeGros (Heather) and his very loved nieces and nephews.  John was a listening ear, a kind heart, a man of many opinions and a true confidant. He will be sadly missed.  A heartfelt thank you is extended to Dr. Karen Whalen-Browne and Caroline, the staff on Kidd 3 and the KGH Palliative Care Team for the care and support of John and his family.  Friends will be received at the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd. Kingston on Friday, June 16, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and on Saturday, June 17, 2017 from 1:30 – 2:15 pm followed by a service celebrating John’s life in the chapel at 2:30pm.  A reception will follow the service in the James Reid Reception and Celebration Centre. For those who wish, donations in John’s memory may be made to Reach for the Rainbow (provides support for children with special needs to attend camp) www.reachfortherainbow.ca . A second celebration of John’s life will be held at The Atrium at Loyola, 2477 West Broadway Avenue, NDG, Montreal on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at 7:00 pm.
