Obituary of Anne Mary Grenier
It with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Anne Grenier (née Giroux). Mom passed away quietly on April 4th after a short battle with cancer. Cremation took place on April 7th, 2022.
Predeceased by her parents, Oscar Leo Giroux and Isabel Giroux (née Stack), brother Brian Giroux, and her beloved husband of 59 years, Ernest Joseph Grenier. She will be greatly missed by her children, Lynne Grenier Bockholt (Michael) and Alain Grenier (Sophia), and by her sister, Linda Andersen.
Grandma always cherished the times she spent with her grandchildren, Connor Bockholt, Hannah Bockholt, Caleb Grenier and Isabelle Grenier. Grandma loved to share her fantastic cooking skills and artistic talents with them. Whether it be sewing, knitting, or painting, grandma could do it all.
Anne loved the lake and making fires! She was a fire bug like her father. She loved dogs and never missed an opportunity to spoil them when she had a chance. While at Remi Lake, her favorite pass time was to feed and care for the chipmunks.
Mom always made time for her friends and met them just about every morning at the Kapuskasing Tim Hortons for coffee, chats and lots of laughs. She also made time to volunteer at the Sensenbrenner Hospital, where she used her artistic talents to tastefully decorate the shop for special occasions and the change of seasons.
With always a kind word to say and time to spend joking around with her children, grandchildren and friends, Anne was loved by all who knew her.
Anne will be fondly remembered by her family, extended family, and many, many friends.
The immediate family will have a closed ceremony to honor her life.
Friends wishing to contribute to her memory may do so to the Canadian Cancer Society.
