Obituary of Jacqueline Hoel
Hoel; Jacqueline (nee Gauthier) born in Ste. Therese, PQ, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2021. She will be missed by her husband Leslie of many years, her sister Rachel of Ste. Therese, PQ, several nieces, nephews and many close friends around the world. She was predeceased by five brothers and two sisters. Jacqueline was always active in a variety of sports principally an accomplished equestrian and later as a dedicated golfer. She was a member of several golf clubs including the Cataraqui Golf and Country Club of Kingston, ON, Army and Navy Country Club, Arlington Va, USA and Tanzania Golf Club in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, East Africa whilst living there with her husband who was on assignment there. She also played golf in Australia and New Zealand with friends whilst visiting there on different occasions with her husband. She also lived in England for over a year immediately after her marriage and travelled to other parts of Europe. She was an avid traveller and has been on several trips to Europe and had flown around the world via Australia etc. She with her husband had made three trans-Atlantic voyages by ship and one from South Africa to England. Whilst living in Canada and abroad she was noted as a good hostess and chef for large gatherings of friends, dignitaries, etc, as part of the role of living at home and abroad.
She had requested immediate cremation and private burial of her ashes in a family plot in home city of Ste. Therese, PQ. Cremation has been entrusted to James Reid Funeral Home, Kingston, ON. A special thank you is extended to the Doctors and Nurses at Parkside 2 at Providence Care Hospital for the wonderful care that Jaqueline received.
