Obituary of Baden McDowall Pinney
Pinney; Baden McDowall – Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, October 15, 2021 at the age of 86. Predeceased by his wife D. Joan Pinney in 1997 and his parents Ernest and Ida Pinney. Baden is the cherished father to Stephen Pinney and Sharon Pinney, grandfather to Lyla (Ahmed) and Jasmine and great-grandfather to Bilal and Mya. He will be missed by his brother Graeme Pinney (Jan).
Born and raised in Australia, Baden moved to Canada with Joan and a sense of adventure in 1958. His career as a mechanical engineer at DuPont brought them to Kingston where they settled and raised two children. After Joan’s tragic passing, it was the special connection with his wonderful group of friends and dear companion Claire that gave him such joy and connection. In this sense, his value of friendship and family was what marks his legacy.
Cremation has been entrusted to James Reid Funeral Home, Kingston. Friends and Family are invited to a Visitation on Friday, October 22, 2021 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm. Pre-registration is not required, contact tracing with be done at the door. Covid protocols will be in place.
